What Mintos actually pays a new investor
Mintos does not run a standing welcome bonus in the way Crowdpear or PeerBerry do. It runs campaigns: a named promotion, a promo code, a defined window, and a payout table that scales with the amount you put to work. WEALTH25 was the version running in late 2025; THINK2027 followed. The names rotate roughly quarterly, the structure does not.
That structure is tiered. The advertised maximum - up to EUR 500 - sits at the top of a ladder that starts far higher than most first deposits. To reach the headline figure you are typically committing a five-figure sum and holding it for the full qualifying period. At the bottom of the ladder, an investor putting EUR 1,000 to work often lands below the first tier entirely and receives nothing from the campaign.
Alongside the campaigns, Mintos operates a smaller standing offer: EUR 25 once you have EUR 1,500 invested within 30 days of registration. That one is predictable, it does not depend on a code being live, and for a realistic first portfolio it is usually the only Mintos bonus actually in reach.
How to qualify, step by step
Decide your entry route before you register
This is the step that matters most and the only one you cannot redo. Check whether a named campaign is live on Mintos and what its entry tier is. If your planned investment clears that tier, register with the promo code. If it does not, a friend's referral link is worth more - the EUR 50 they receive is often shared. You cannot have both.
Register and complete verification
Mintos runs automated KYC under its Latvian MiFID II licence: photo ID, a selfie and a source-of-funds declaration for larger deposits. Approval is usually same-day on business days. The qualifying clock starts at registration, so a slow verification eats into your 30-day window.
Deposit by SEPA and invest, do not park cash
Bonus tiers are measured on invested amounts, not account balance. Set up a Core or Custom auto-invest strategy on the day your deposit clears, or allocate manually the same session. Cash sitting available in the account counts for nothing towards any Mintos bonus.
Hold through the qualifying period
Campaign bonuses are credited after the qualifying window closes, typically 30 days. Referral bonuses vest at day 90 and require the invested amount to still be there. Selling positions on the secondary market before that date can cancel the payout.
What it is worth on EUR 1,000
Between nothing and EUR 25. On a EUR 1,000 first investment you are below the EUR 1,500 threshold for the standing offer and below the entry tier of most campaigns. Push the same money to EUR 1,500 and the EUR 25 lands - an effective 1.7 per cent on the qualifying amount, paid once.
Set against the alternatives, that is modest. Indemo pays roughly EUR 40 on the same EUR 1,000 and Maclear around EUR 75. Mintos wins the advertising and loses the arithmetic at small ticket sizes - which is exactly what you would expect from the market's largest and most heavily regulated player. It does not need to buy small investors.
The referral programme, and the rule that costs people money
Refer-a-friend pays EUR 50 to the referrer when the invited investor puts at least EUR 1,000 to work within 60 days and keeps it invested until day 90. It is one of the cleaner referral schemes in the market: a flat amount, a clear threshold, no percentage arithmetic.
The trap is the combination rule. Mintos states that the welcome bonus does not combine with refer-a-friend, so the route you arrive by determines which offer you are eligible for - and you cannot switch afterwards. If a campaign tier would pay you more than a friend's EUR 50 is worth to you, register with the promo code instead of the referral link. If you are investing a smaller amount that falls below every campaign tier, the referral route is the one that pays. Work this out before you open the account; almost no platform lets you reattach a code later.
No loyalty programme
Mintos runs nothing comparable to Crowdpear's Silver-Gold-Platinum ladder or Hive5's volume tiers. Long-term investors get scale benefits through the product range instead - Notes, bonds, ETFs and the Smart Cash money-market option - rather than through a rate uplift on portfolio size. If you are choosing a platform to grow a five-figure portfolio over years, the absence of a loyalty rate is a genuine difference against Crowdpear and Hive5, and a small one against everything else.
Conditions worth reading twice
- Campaigns need the code. The promo code must be entered at registration and determines which payout table applies to you. No code, no campaign bonus, regardless of how much you invest.
- Investing counts, depositing does not. Money sitting as available cash in your Mintos account does not move you up a tier - it has to be allocated to Notes or another instrument.
- The 90-day hold on referrals. The invited investor must keep the qualifying amount invested to day 90, not just reach it once. An early withdrawal cancels the referrer's EUR 50.
- Welcome and referral never stack. Choose your entry route deliberately - it is the single most expensive detail on this page.
- Campaign terms are the binding version. Names, tiers and ceilings change every quarter; the live campaign page at Mintos always overrides any summary, including this one.
Is the bonus a reason to choose Mintos?
No, and it is not meant to be. Mintos scores 4.4 stars in our ratings on the strength of a MiFID II investment firm licence in Latvia, ten years of operating history, the deepest secondary market in European P2P and the most complete public reporting of any platform we cover. Realised yields run 9 to 11 per cent - lower than Indemo or Lendermarket advertise, and considerably more likely to actually arrive.
Read the bonus as what it is: a small rebate on the cost of getting started at a platform you would pick anyway. If the campaign happens to be live and your intended deposit clears a tier, take it. If not, invest without it - waiting for a better campaign costs you more in idle cash than the bonus pays. Our full Mintos review covers the five checks in detail, and Maclear vs Mintos puts it against the site's highest-rated platform, bonus stacks included.
