Why the average-balance mechanic matters
Almost every welcome offer in Europe pays on a single number: the amount you invested, or the amount you deposited, measured once. Nectaro measures your average daily invested balance across the first 30 days instead, and pays 1 per cent of that.
The difference is behavioural. Under a deposit-based offer, an investor can transfer EUR 5,000, let it sit as cash while they read the loan list, and still collect the full bonus. Under Nectaro's version, every day that money is not funding loans drags the average down and shrinks the payment. Transfer EUR 1,000 on day one and invest it immediately and your average balance is close to EUR 1,000, paying about EUR 10. Transfer the same EUR 1,000 but only invest it on day 20 and your average is roughly a third of that, paying about EUR 3.
It is the same discipline a careful P2P investor should be applying anyway - cash drag is the quiet killer of realised returns across this asset class - and Nectaro is the only platform in our comparison that prices it into the welcome offer. There is also no cap, which matters more than it sounds: Robocash's referral caps at EUR 10 and PeerBerry's large-referrer scheme at EUR 1,000, while Nectaro's newbie cashback scales with whatever you actually put to work.
How to qualify, step by step
Register and complete verification
Nectaro operates under a Latvian MiFID II licence, so verification is a full investment-firm KYC: identity document, selfie, and an investor questionnaire covering knowledge and experience. Budget a day. The 30-day measurement period starts at registration, so verification delays cost you average balance.
Deposit before you plan to invest, not after
Because the bonus is measured daily, the clock is unforgiving of transfer time. Send the SEPA payment as early in the window as you can - money that arrives on day 12 can only ever contribute 18 days of average balance to the calculation.
Switch on auto-invest immediately
This is where the mechanic pays or does not. Auto-invest allocates cleared funds within minutes and reinvests repayments automatically, keeping your invested balance close to your deposited balance for the whole window. Hand-picking loans across several sessions is the single most expensive way to claim this bonus.
Collect by the 15th of the following month
The cashback is calculated once the 30 days close and credited by the 15th of the next month, as cash in your account. Check the figure against your own average balance - the platform shows daily balances in the account statement.
What it is worth on EUR 1,000
Around EUR 10, if you invest promptly and keep the balance deployed for the full 30 days. That is level with Robocash, below Hive5's EUR 20 and Indemo's EUR 40, and several times what any rate-boost offer returns on the same money.
The number moves in one direction only - down - if you leave cash idle, which makes it the one welcome bonus on this site where your own behaviour in the first month materially changes the payout. It also means the offer rewards using Nectaro's auto-invest from day one rather than hand-picking loans over a fortnight.
Watch for the limited-time layers on top. Nectaro periodically runs a EUR 50 bonus for a first investment of EUR 1,000 and a 3 per cent cashback variant of the newbies campaign. When one of those is live, the same EUR 1,000 pays EUR 30 to EUR 50 rather than EUR 10 - which puts Nectaro near the top of the bonus comparison rather than in the middle. These campaigns are announced on the platform's blog and run for weeks, not months.
Referral and Boost cashback
The referral scheme mirrors the welcome mechanic: each side receives 1 per cent of the invited investor's average invested balance, and the referrer takes an extra EUR 10 for every friend who invests EUR 300 or more within their first 30 days. Total referral earnings are capped at EUR 1,000.
Separately, Nectaro flags selected instruments with a Boost label carrying 1, 2 or 3 per cent additional cashback. That is not a welcome offer - it runs continuously and is open to all investors - but it is the closest thing Nectaro has to a loyalty programme, and it can be worth more over a year than the welcome bonus was worth once. There is no volume ladder of the kind Crowdpear or Hive5 publish.
Conditions worth reading twice
- Average daily balance, not peak balance. The calculation uses every day in the window, including the days before your first investment settled.
- Invested, not deposited. Cash held in the account is explicitly outside the base - this is the whole design of the offer.
- Payment lands by the 15th of the following month, not at the end of the 30 days, so expect a gap of up to six weeks between registering and being paid.
- Limited-time campaigns replace rather than stack with each other. When a 3 per cent or EUR 50 campaign is live, check which terms apply to a new registration - they are variants of the newbies offer, not additions to it.
- Referral earnings cap at EUR 1,000 across all invited investors, and the friend's qualifying investment is measured over their first 30 days.
Is the bonus a reason to invest?
It is a well-designed offer on a platform that earns its place independently. Nectaro scores 4.1 stars, holds a MiFID II investment firm licence in Latvia, and lists loans originated by the DelfinGroup - a Nasdaq Riga-listed company with published financial statements, which is a materially higher standard of counterparty disclosure than most originator relationships in this market. Realised yields run around 14.9 per cent, high for a licensed platform.
The related-party structure is the thing to weigh rather than the bonus: you are lending to loans issued by a single group, so diversification within Nectaro is limited by design. Read the full Nectaro review for how that scored against our five checks, and use the bonus comparison if you want to see where the EUR 10 sits against the rest of the market. If a EUR 50 or 3 per cent campaign happens to be live when you register, that changes the calculation - claim it.
